Det årlige samarbeidet mellom Ultima og by:Larm samler noen av dagens mest dristige lydutforskere. Dette året er intet unntak. Alle opptredener skjer i de underjordiske hvelvene til Hulias, i Hausmania-kvartalet.

The annual collaboration between Ultima and by:Larm brings together some of today’s most adventurous sound explorers. This year is no different. All performances unfold in the subterranean vaults of Hulias, beneath Oslo’s Hausmania neighbourhood.
Dania vever neo-ambient lydlandskaper av vokalfragmenter, bearbeidede feltopptak og meditative atmosfærer, og undersøker identitet i en fragmentert postkolonial verden. Født i Bagdad leder hun den eksperimentelle plattformen Paralaxe Editions. Hun har gitt ut på Geographic North og Ecstatic, og har opptrådt på Café OTO, Sonic Acts og Sónar.
Eli Keszler forener perkusjon, komposisjon og elektronikk i en avantgardistisk lyd som spenner over eksperimentell elektronika, jazz og utvidede ambientformer. Som Grammy-nominert artist har han gitt ut soloplater på LuckyMe, Shelter Press og ESP-DISK’, mottatt bestillingsverk fra ledende ensembler, i tillegg til samarbeid med Oneohtrix Point Never, Laurel Halo og Laure Prouvost.
Brian Bamanya, kjent som Afrorack, kombinerer tradisjonelle afrikanske rytmer med modulær syntese. Som skaper av kontinentets første DIY-modulære instrument forvandler han lokalt innhentede materialer til levende lydarkitekturer. For denne dansefokuserte kvelden vil han bearbeide rytmer fra hjemlandet på trommemaskiner og synthesizere, og feire vitaliteten i Afrikas undergrunnsmusikk.

Dania weaves neo-ambient soundscapes from vocal fragments, processed field recordings and meditative atmospheres, exploring identity in a fractured post-colonial world. Born in Baghdad, now based in Barcelona, she leads the experimental platform Paralaxe Editions, with releases on Geographic North and Ecstatic, and performances at Café OTO, Sonic Acts and Sónar.
Eli Keszler combines percussion, composition and electronics into an avant-garde sound spanning experimental electronica, jazz and stretched ambient forms. A Grammy-nominated artist, he has released solo records on LuckyMe, Shelter Press and ESP-DISK’ and received commissions from leading ensembles—alongside collaborations with Oneohtrix Point Never, Laurel Halo and Laure Prouvost.
Brian Bamanya (Afrorack) fuses traditional African rhythms with modular synthesis. As creator of the continent’s first DIY modular instrument, he transforms locally sourced materials into vibrant sonic architectures. For this dance-focused evening, he will rework homeland grooves using drum machines and synthesizers, celebrating the vitality of Africa’s underground music.
